(Re-NEET in Rajasthan)The Re-NEET examination began across the state on Sunday under strict security checks, with students screened thoroughly at centres.

Jaipur/Jhunjhunu/Kota/Alwar/Udaipur: The Re-NEET examination began across the state on Sunday under strict security checks, with students screened thoroughly at centres. Several candidates were asked to remove religious symbols such as burqas, apart from spectacles and shirt buttons during frisking. Around 2.09 lakh candidates appeared for the exam at 611 centres across the state.Students were allowed to enter only after strict checking with biometric verification; frisking and gates were closed at 1.30 pm. Some students were denied entry after arriving late.In Kota district collector Peeyush Samariya and Kota City SP Tejasvini Gautam inspected centres across the city to monitor the conduct of the examination. Samariya said elaborate arrangements had been made to ensure a fair and transparent examination. Local police and Central Armed Police Forces were deployed across Kota, while around 250 CRPF personnel were stationed at strategic locations.Gautam said even examination staff, including centre superintendents, were frisked before entering the centres.“Our social media monitoring team identified two to three suspicious activities. In one case, a cyber fraudster claiming to possess the Re-NEET question paper was traced and detained in Jammu & Kashmir. Jammu & Kashmir police has initiated action against the youth in the matter,” she said.In Jaipur, Police Commissioner Sachin Mittal visited the govt school at Chaura Rasta to check the security arrangements. The overall attendance percentage Jaipur was recorded at 91.66%. Before the exam, a candidate who had reached alone at Kendriya Vidyayalaya No.4, Khatipura Road, realised that he had dropped his Aadhaar card on the way and another candidate’s family waiting outside took him on his bike to trace the lost document. They returned within 15 minutes after the candidate found the Aadhaar card and were able to enter before 1:30pm.Outside Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Bajaj Nagar, regular announcements were made every five minutes regarding the entry process and required documents to prevent last-minute panic. Outside Commerce College, police actively cleared the roads to ensure students could reach the center without facing traffic delays.Some parents waiting outside exam centres said that they had no problem with the arrangements and only prayed that no paper leak is detected after the exam is conducted.In Alwar, candidates were allowed to carry only a transparent water bottle, admit card, photo and Aadhaar card. Pens were provided inside the exam halls. They were required to sign once at the start of the exam and again at the end.At one centre in Alwar, even a candidate’s handkerchief was examined. In Bharatpur, jammers were installed at all centres, disrupting mobile networks within about a 300-metre radius. Shops within 100 metres of the centres were closed, except those providing emergency services.In Sikar too jammers were installed at examination centres to block mobile and electronic networks. Photocopy shops, e-Mitra centres and cyber cafes within a 300-metre radius of the centres were ordered to remain closed during the exam. The district recorded attendance of 94.3% and 1544 students were absent on Sunday. In Jhunjhunu, the attendance was recorded at 93.5%.In Sikar, question papers stored in strong rooms at 12 banks were moved to exam centres on Sunday morning under tight security. BSF jawans, police and administrative officials were deployed for the movement. Two BSF jawans were posted at each centre, with 182 BSF personnel engaged across the district.Additional SP Sikar Tejpal Singh said around 800 police personnel were deployed to ensure the exam is conducted peacefully and fairly. He said the police would act against anyone spreading rumours or posting suspicious guess papers or NEET-related material. Social media was also being closely monitored, and prompt action will be taken if any suspicious activity is detected.In Udaipur, 83.8% attendance was recorded for the exam. During checking, when student’s nose pin could not be removed, the security personnel put a tape on her nose and then allowed her to enter. Sacred threads tied on the candidates’ hands were removed, and ears were checked with a torch.
