Jhunjhunu: Sikar police, in a breakthrough in a recent burglary involving lakhs of rupees from a house in Khichdon Ka Bas under the Gokulpura police station area, arrested four members of inter-state gang from Punjab. Sharing details Sunday, Additional SP Tejpal Singh told the media that the main accused came on the pretext of visiting Khatu Shyamji temple for darshan, conducted reconnaissance, and then carried out the theft. After the incident, a special team was formed under CO City Sandeep Singh. The accused were identified and later arrested from Punjab. All four are currently on five-day police remand, and police said the accused have prior criminal records, with more disclosures likely during interrogation.According to Gokulpura SHO Preeti Beniwal, the burglary took place on June 9 when the accused entered the house by breaking a rear window and stole cash and jewellery worth lakhs. During the investigation, police reviewed around 500 CCTV clips—about 350 from areas in Sikar, Jhunjhunu and the Bikaner Road belt, and about 150 from Punjab and Haryana—leading to key leads.Based on these inputs, the team went to Bathinda, Mansa and Sangrur districts and arrested the four from Kotshamir in Bathinda. The arrested accused are Sonu Kumar, Lal Singh, Ramkishan, and Vijay alias Monu. Police said the gang allegedly operated across Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat, Delhi and Punjab, using different vehicles and accomplices for each incident, entering homes by cutting rear windows, and avoiding mobile phones to prevent identification.Police personnel Ramkumar, Rajpal, Bablesh, Omprakash and Hansraj played a key role in the operation.
