Kota: A leopard strayed into Chattar Vilas (CV) Garden in Nayapura Tuesday morning, where it was spotted by morning walkers and yoga enthusiasts. The animal was captured after a three-hour rescue operation and shifted to Abheda Biological Park for observation.The incident occurred early in the morning when visitors spotted the leopard moving through the garden. As people raised an alarm and moved away, the animal climbed a 40-foot mango tree and perched on a top branch. Soon, a crowd gathered outside the garden.A joint team of forest dept personnel and police cordoned off the area and managed the crowd while preparing for the rescue. A crane was deployed to reach the leopard, following which forest officials darted and tranquillised it.Kota divisional forest officer Pramod Dhakad said the specialised rescue team reached the spot with tranquilising equipment and a crane. The leopard was safely darted and captured without any injuries to the animal or people.The leopard was shifted to Abheda Biological Park and kept under observation. Dhakad said a medical examination would be conducted to determine its age and sex before a decision is taken on its release into the forest as directed by senior officials.Deputy superintendent of police Rajesh Tailor said police secured the area and dispersed the crowd to prevent the animal from being disturbed. No casualties were reported.
