Jaipur: Two 18-year-old youths were killed and two others seriously injured after a speeding truck rammed the motorcycle carrying them on a service road near Daulatpura in Jaipur at 6.45 am Monday. The impact was so severe that the motorcycle was completely mangled and the legs of both the deceased were severed below the knees.The deceased were identified as Aniket (18) and Praveen (18). “Their friends, Vikas and Shivam, were admitted to SMS Hospital in critical condition,” said a police officer of Daulatpura police station.According to police, the four friends had spent Sunday night at Aniket’s sister’s house near Daulatpura and were returning home on a single motorcycle in the morning when the truck, travelling towards Khedwariya, hit their bike. The truck driver fled from the spot after the accident. “We have seized the truck and launched a search for the driver,” said an officer.Police added that the four were originally from Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh and lived with their families in Machda area of Harmada, Jaipur. “All were working at a rubber-ring factory in the Lohamandi area,” police said. Police are investigating whether the truck was being driven at speed and are examining evidence from the accident site and surrounding area.
