Jhunjhunu: Sadar police arrested four men and seized 202 grams of opium along with a car during a blockade conducted as part of a drive against drug trafficking in Sikar district Friday.The arrested accused have been identified as Rakesh Kumar (26), Pradeep Saini (24), Mukesh Kumar Jangid (21) and Ravindra Kumar (27), all residents of Jhunjhunu district.SHO Pawan Kumar Chaube said a police team had set up a checkpoint outside Sanwali Medical College when a Baleno car coming from the Losal side attempted to turn back after spotting the police. Suspecting foul play, officers intercepted the vehicle and searched it.During the search, police recovered the opium concealed in a plastic bag near the car’s gear lever. A case under the NDPS Act was registered, and the contraband and vehicle were seized. The investigation has been transferred to Losal police station.Police said they are investigating whether the opium was meant for personal consumption or for supply. Efforts are also underway to trace the source of the contraband and identify others involved in the network.
