Jaipur: Kendriya Vidyalaya Jaipur edged past hosts Dehradun 3-1 in a penalty shootout to win the final of the Under-14 Girls Football during the 55th Kendriya Vidyalaya National Sports Championship held at PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Birpur.The girls team of KV 1 Jaipur defeated Dehradun 3-1 in a penalty shootout to clinch the title. The final of the competition held in Dehradun on Friday was very exciting.Both teams remained tied throughout regulation and extra-time. In the subsequent penalty shootout, Jaipur goalkeeper Vrinda Tinker performed brilliantly, saving two Dehradun penalties. Goals for Jaipur were scored by Gorika Yadav, Devisha Soni, and Khushi Yadav, while Sandhya scored the only goal for Dehradun.

The winning Jaipur team was awarded a cash prize of Rs 70,000, the runners-up Dehradun side received Rs 42,000, while the third-placed Mumbai team got Rs 28,000.At the closing ceremony, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Deputy Commissioner Preeti Saxena and Assistant Commissioner Surjeet Singh presented trophies, medals, and certificates to the winning players. School Principal Basanti Khampa encouraged the players and wished them a bright future.
