Jaipur: Less than 24 hours after a truck mowed down a family of five at the 200-Feet Bypass, killing a father and his three sons, another fatal accident occurred near the same spot on Wednesday when a speeding truck ran over a 19-year-old woman riding pillion on a bike taxi. The biker was injured, while the truck driver fled.Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Vijendra Singh Yadav identified the deceased as Bharti Saini, 19, a native of Dausa district who lived in Bhankrota and worked at Mahindra SEZ. The injured biker was identified as Navdeep. Police said efforts are underway to trace the dumper driver, who escaped after the accident.According to police, Bharti was travelling from Transport Nagar to Mahindra SEZ on the bike taxi when the truck, heading towards Ajmer from the Delhi side, allegedly rammed into the rear of the motorcycle near Highway King Hotel on the Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway stretch along the 200-Feet Bypass.“The preliminary investigation suggests the truck was travelling at a high speed. After hitting the motorcycle, the driver fled the spot,” Yadav said.Local residents rushed to help the victims and shifted them to hospital. Doctors declared Bharti brought dead, while Navdeep sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment.Police said CCTV cameras installed in the area captured the dumper’s movement before and after the collision. Investigators are analysing the footage to identify the vehicle and arrest the driver.The accident occurred near the same location where, on Tuesday morning, a trailer truck ran over five members of a family waiting on a footpath, killing Chandra Prakash and his three young sons while critically injuring his wife.Police said Bharti’s body would be handed over to her family after the post-mortem examination.
