Jaipur: Congress State president Govind Singh Dotasra Wednesday wrote to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma alleging that the state govt’s large-scale transfers in the education department were politically motivated and disproportionately targeted the Shekhawati region, particularly his Lachhmangarh Assembly constituency in Sikar district. In his letter, Dotasra alleged that the transfers in Sikar, Churu and Jhunjhunu were carried out with “political malice and an authoritarian attitude” and questioned whether the people of Shekhawati voted for the BJP to face such treatment. He also accused the education minister Madan Dilawar of misusing administrative powers and claimed that voluntary transfers became an exception while administrative transfers became the norm under the present govt.Citing official figures, Dotasra said around 400 transfers were made from the Lachhmangarh Assembly constituency alone. He alleged that the exercise was not merely an administrative process but an attempt to weaken the region’s public representation and education system.Referring to the latest transfer lists, Dotasra claimed that in the second-grade teachers’ transfers, 356 of the 808 transfers in Churu education circle were made on administrative grounds involving TA/DA. In Laxmangarh, he said, 147 of the 174 transfers, or about 84.5%, fell under the administrative category. He further alleged that in the earlier lecturer transfer list, 122 of the 143 transfers from Laxmangarh were administrative, while 71 of the 81 principal transfers from the constituency were also made on administrative grounds.
