Jaipur: The Indian team arrived in China on Tuesday to participate in the 19th Asian Men’s Junior Handball Championship, to be held in Chuzhou, China, from July 15 to 26. Rajasthan’s Mahendrapal Singh Paro, Varunjot Singh, Manish Thakran, and Yashpal Singh have been selected in the national squad. Yash Pratap Singh, honorary secretary of the Rajasthan State Handball Association, stated that Mahendrapal Singh Paro, selected for the Indian team, is from Barmer and plays the pivot position. Varunjot Singh, who plays the left back position, is from Sriganganagar. Manish Thakkan is from Bikaner and plays on the right wing. Yashpal Singh is originally from Chittorgarh and plays the left wing position. He informed that the 10-day training camp of the Indian team was organised from July 3 to 12 at Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur. On their selection, Rajasthan State Handball Association president Lalit Kumar Kalaal, honorary secretary Yash Pratap Singh and the entire executive congratulated and wished them and hoped that these young players from Rajasthan would make the country and the state proud by performing brilliantly in the Asian Championship.
