Jaipur: Poor sanitation has become a growing concern in Jaipur, with residents from several parts of the city complaining about garbage piling up on roads, blocked drains and irregular waste collection.People living in Mansarovar, Malviya Nagar, Vaishali Nagar, Vidhyadhar Nagar, Pratap Nagar, Jhotwara, Shastri Nagar, Bani Park, Adarsh Nagar, Jagatpura, Muhana Mandi, Sanganer, Kishanpole, Chandpole, Tripolia Bazaar, Ramganj, Brahmpuri and Ghat Gate say the situation has worsened during the monsoon, leading to foul smell, mosquitoes and fears of disease.

Shekhar Meena, a resident of Mansarovar, said garbage is not collected regularly despite repeated complaints.
“Garbage often remains on the roadside for days. Every morning, we see heaps of waste outside our area. It is disappointing to see the condition of the state capital,” he said.Rekha Agrawal from Jagatpura said blocked drains make life difficult whenever it rains.“Rainwater collects on the roads because the drains are not cleaned on time. It becomes difficult for people to walk or drive through the area,” she said.Ishika Jain, a shopkeeper from Kishanpole, said poor cleanliness in the Walled City is also affecting business.“Markets are not cleaned regularly. Tourists notice the garbage and often ask why the area is so dirty. It creates a bad impression and affects business,” she said.Pooja Saxena, a resident of Vaishali Nagar, said garbage collection vehicles do not always arrive on time.“When the collection vehicle does not come, people throw waste on empty plots or by the roadside, making the area even dirtier,” she said.Mahesh Sharma from Brahmpuri said dirty drains and stagnant water have increased the mosquito problem.“Water stays in the drains for days after rain. We are worried about diseases like dengue and malaria,” he said.
