Jaipur: Jaipur shuttlers put up an impressive performance at the Yonex-Sunrise North Zone Prime Mini Badminton Championship, held from July 11 to 13 in Chandigarh. By winning two gold medals, they brought glory to Rajasthan.In the annual tournament, Miraya Fageriya won the gold medal by showcasing excellent play in the Under-13 girls’ singles category. Miraya defeated Samaira Aggarwal of Ludhiana to clinch the crown. Throughout the tournament, Miraya won her matches with superb technique and confidence.Meanwhile, in the Under-15 girls’ doubles category, the duo of Pearl Pareek and Ojasvita Dubey displayed brilliant coordination and aggressive gameplay to secure the gold medal. Both players kept their composure under pressure during the final, maintaining an effective performance to claim the title. Ojasvita and Pearl thumped the pair of Jyoti and Pari to emerge champions.This achievement by the Jaipur players is being hailed as a major milestone for the state’s badminton fraternity. Recently, young players from Rajasthan have been consistently winning medals at national-level tournaments, indicating a strong surge in local badminton talent.KK Sharma, secretary of the Rajasthan Badminton Association, and Manoj Dasot, secretary of the Jaipur District Badminton Association, congratulated the players on their outstanding display.
