Scindia accuses Congress of fighting for chair
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia

Alwar: Union communications minister Jyotiraditya Scindia launched a sharp attack on Congress, saying the party is fighting a battle for the chair, while BJP is fighting a battle for democracy and national interest. At the ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ programme Saturday, Scindia targeted Congress’s Rahul Gandhi over language and political conduct without taking his name. He objected to recent protests and statements made in Parliament and on the streets.Scindia said Congress’s leadership, policy and intent have all become ‘zero’. “Congress is concerned neither with any movement nor with development and wants only the ‘chair’. The responsibility of leading the Opposition rests on that person’s shoulders,” and questioned whether it was appropriate to quarrel, throw punches, enter the Akashvani office and shove private security personnel.Scindia said it seemed to him that the mathematician Aryabhatta may perhaps have invented ‘zero’ only for Congress. “Their leadership has become zero. Their policy and intent have become zero. The public has made their results zero as well.”He said that for the last 35 years Congress has been shrinking to zero in big states including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.Scindia said the party, instead of correcting shortcomings, was raising questions over electronic voting or the electoral process. “The issue was not vote theft, but restlessness about “how has someone else sat on my chair?””Scindia took part in the programme along with Alwar MP and Union forest and environment minister Bhupendra Yadav, Rajasthan forest and environment minister Sanjay Sharma and BJP district president Ashok Gupta.Addressing the gathering, Scindia again said Congress is fighting a battle for the chair, while BJP is working in the interest of the country and democracy.
