Jaipur: A 22-year-old girl accused of using a mobile phone to cheat during the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination at a centre in Jaipur’s Bindayaka area was produced before a court on Monday and sent to judicial custody.Police said the accused, identified as Himanshi Tiwari, a resident of Prem Nagar in the city’s Gurjar Ki Thadi, was caught during the examination on Sunday after invigilators noticed suspicious behaviour inside the examination hall. During a check, a mobile phone was allegedly recovered from her possession.According to investigators, the candidate had concealed the mobile phone inside her undergarments beneath her shirt. The device was seized and police have initiated the process of sending it for forensic examination.Officials said the forensic analysis will determine whether the phone was used only to search for answers or if there was any attempt to transmit examination-related information to another person. The findings are expected to play a crucial role in the investigation.Police said further legal action will depend on the forensic report and evidence collected during the probe. If the use of unfair means during the examination is established, the accused could face prosecution under provisions of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act.
