Kota: A 45-year-old auto-rickshaw driver died after allegedly being stabbed by another driver during an argument over parking near JK Lon Hospital in Kota Tuesday evening. Police arrested the accused within 24 hours Wednesday.Police identified the victim as Mujahid Hussain, a resident of Shiv Nagar Police Line, and the accused as Sharafat Hussain Abbasi of Nehru Colony.According to police, the drivers argued over parking before the dispute escalated into violence. Sharafat allegedly got out of his auto-rickshaw, grabbed Mujahid by the collar and stabbed him in the left side of his chest with a small knife.Sharafat fled in his vehicle, while Mujahid was taken to MBS Hospital, where he died during treatment later that night.Nayapura police reached the scene, collected evidence and began an investigation. Based on a complaint by Mujahid’s brother, Muzammil, police registered a murder case and launched a search for the accused.DSP Rajesh Taylor said Sharafat had been arrested and was being interrogated. An initial investigation indicated that the fatal attack stemmed from a minor argument over parking space, he said.Mujahid is survived by his wife and three children.
