JMC-H begins 3-day cleanliness campaign

Jaipur: To maintain hygiene and ensure a festive atmosphere around religious places and residential areas alike for Nirjala Ekadashi and Bakrid, Jaipur Municipal Corporation–Heritage Saturday started a three-day special cleanliness campaign.The drive began following a high-level meeting of officials where additional commissioner Surendra Singh Yadav directed that no sanitation worker would be granted leave during this three-day period. Cleanliness must be visible on the ground in all municipal zones, he said.Sanitation committee chairman Pawan Sharma Natraj said, “Special attention is being given to temples and mosques, with additional cleaning and decorative rangolis to welcome worshippers.”Garage branch chairman Rajat Vishnoi instructed that during Bakrid, municipal vehicles must be fully covered while in transit to prevent any spillage of waste onto public roads.Deputy commissioner of sanitation Devanand Sharma said precautionary measures were taken to prevent sewer overflows, and extra hoppers and tractor trolleys were already deployed in wards. The campaign includes enhanced manpower, additional equipment, and close supervision by ward-level CSIs and SIs.
