JAIPUR: Jaipur (I) reproductive and child health officer (RCHO) Dr Asha Meena was placed on awaiting posting with immediate effect Tuesday for alleged negligence in departmental work and serious lapses in implementing health schemes.The health department issued the order after a review found unsatisfactory progress in key national health and maternal and child health programmes during her tenure. The district recorded poor performance in first-trimester registration of pregnant women, targeted immunisation, tracking of high-risk pregnancies, full immunisation coverage and implementation of the Measles-Rubella-2 line list.Dr Meena is directed to report to the office of the chief medical and health officer, Sriganganagar. Principal secretary (health and medical education) Gayatri Rathore said strict action would be taken against officers who fail to meet targets or show serious deficiencies in their work performance.
