Jaipur: A head constable posted in the call detail record (CDR) cell of Sriganganagar police was suspended Wednesday for allegedly helping Punjab-based smugglers linked to a heroin consignment dropped by Pakistani drones.Police identified the accused as Mangat Ram, a resident of Chunawadh, who was part of several major anti-smuggling operations along the India-Pakistan border and was considered an expert in cybercrime and drone smuggling investigations.The case relates to the recovery of 10.830 kg heroin, valued at nearly Rs 50 crore, from fields inunder Rawla police station area on March 26. Investigators alleged Mangat Ram misled police teams by supplying incorrect technical inputs and was in contact with one of the arrested smugglers. Five accused were earlier arrested in the case.
