Kota: Kota police have said no Pakistan link has been established so far in the investigation into a case involving alleged religious conversion, obscene online content and fake social media identities, even as claims of a wider racket continue to circulate.Investigators have also said no videos involving local women or girls have been found so far on the mobile phone of accused Manish Sharma alias “Mohin Khan”, a resident under Vigyan Nagar police station limits. The seized handset has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for detailed examination, and further findings will depend on the FSL report.The case was registered after Bajrang Dal activist lodged a complaint at Vigyan Nagar police station on June 15, alleging that the accused was associated with online groups where discussions centred on luring Hindu women into romantic relationships, recording objectionable videos and using them for blackmail. The complaint further alleged that women were pressured to convert after being exploited, he said.Police booked Sharma under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and IT Act. He was later arrested and is currently in judicial custody.Inspector Mange Lal Yadav, the investigating officer, said no Pakistani connection has been established in the probe so far. He said the accused had downloaded obscene videos from various websites and online platforms, including objectionable content featuring Hindu gods and goddesses.Police said Sharma allegedly operated social media accounts under the fake name “Mohin Khan”.
