Jaipur: Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Saturday travelled from the Chief Minister’s residence to Thikariya village in Bagru aboard an electric vehicle bus to participate in the Gram Vikas Chaupal programme, promoting the message of green mobility and fuel conservation.The CM’s journey by public transport-based electric vehicle bus was described as an effort to internalise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for environmental protection and reduced fuel consumption. The initiative aimed to encourage the public use of electric vehicles and clean transportation systems in the state.During the visit, Sharma participated in the Gram Vikas Chaupal programme and the concluding ceremony of the Gram Rath campaign organised in Thikariya village. Senior administrative and police officials from various departments accompanied him during the programme.The chief minister said that in changing times, promoting electric vehicles and public transport was essential not only for environmental protection but also for fuel conservation and pollution control. He said such initiatives would lay the foundation for a clean and green transportation system in a developed Rajasthan.Officials from the Chief Minister’s Office, police and district administration were also present on the occasion.Sharma said that PM Modi is working for the empowerment of farmers, labourers, women and youth. The development of the country and the state will be achieved through their empowerment. He said that the Prime Minister has also launched important schemes to make mothers and sisters economically strong.The CM was addressing the Gram Vikas Chaupal programme at Thikariya village in Bagru on Saturday.He said that on April 27, Gram Vikas Raths were dispatched across 183 assembly constituencies.. Through these, information was provided about the welfare schemes of the double-engine government and the Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet-2026.In view of the global situation and PM Modi’s call for fuel conservation, it has been decided to postpone the GRAM-2026 event for the time being. He said that unnecessary fuel expenditure should be avoided and the habit of using shared vehicles should be developed, as fuel conservation is also linked to economic savings.
