Abducted soldier recovered safely in Karauli
The kidnapped soldier was rescued.

Jhunjhunu: Police in Sikar district’s Khandela area have recovered an Army soldier abducted from Kerpura village, tracing him to Sapotra in Karauli district Tuesday evening.The soldier, Shri Ram Sihag, was on leave and preparing for competitive examinations at home. His family said they were relieved after he was found safe.Khandela Station House Officer Surendra Devgada said police moved quickly after receiving the abduction report, inspected the scene and set up checkpoints across the district. Investigators also questioned the family about possible motives. Devgada said the soldier’s wife told police about a dispute over money with a fellow soldier from Karauli district during his posting and raised suspicion of abduction.Acting on that lead, police formed a team and sent it to Karauli. Station House Officer Surendra Kumar Degda said the soldier was traced in Sapotra and was being brought to Khandela. “The entire matter will be revealed only after the soldier returns,” he said.According to police, the abduction happened Monday night as the soldier was returning by motorcycle from Ranoli to Kerpura. Near the bus stand, people in a car allegedly hit him off the bike, forced him into the vehicle and fled, leaving his helmet and motorcycle behind. Locals alerted the family.Police said the abductors later called the soldier’s wife from his phone and demanded money, reinforcing the family’s belief that he had been kidnapped. The soldier’s brother reported the incident to Khandela police, who launched a district-wide search but the suspects initially escaped.
