Jaipur: The week-long strike by cab, auto, and bike taxi drivers operating through online platforms like Ola, Uber, and Rapido has come to an end. On Monday, a delegation of drivers met Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, who requested 10 days to resolve their grievances. Following this assurance, drivers announced they would resume services from Tuesday. The protesting drivers demanded that these companies establish local offices in Jaipur, not just in Delhi, so that drivers can register complaints directly whenever they face issues. They also raised concerns over rapidly dropping fare prices due to internal competition among platforms, which they say led to significant financial losses for them.Kuldeep Singh Issar, President of the Auto Drivers’ Association, said, “We suffered huge losses over the last seven days, but we had no choice but to protest. These companies are exploiting us in the name of profits. Today we met the CM and explained our situation. He asked for 10 days to work on a solution. So we’ve decided to return to work from tomorrow. But if we don’t see any meaningful progress in those 10 days, we will have no option but to protest again.“The end of the strike will bring relief to thousands of city commuters, who have been struggling with transport options and inflated fares.
