Kota: Two days after a dramatic robbery involving gold jewellery worth lakhs, Kota police are yet to arrest any of the five accused. The robbery took place Wednesday evening in the Kaithunipole police station area and involved five bike-borne youths targeting a jewellery showroom employee.The victim, Mahendra Singh, was on his way to deliver gold ornaments from one showroom to another in Swarn Rajat Bazar. As he reached a circle near Radhika Hostel, five men on two bikes intercepted him. They pushed him, slapped him, and one of them brandished a knife before fleeing on his scooter, which had a jewellery bag stored in its dicky. The others followed on two bikes, leaving Mahendra behind. While the scooter was recovered the same day, the jewellery bag containing 900 grams of gold was missing. CCTV footage captured the accused fleeing on three separate vehicles, including Mahendra’s scooter.Circle inspector Pushpendra Bansiwal said Friday that a case has been registered, and several suspects have been identified. “We are examining CCTV footage from multiple locations along the escape route. The suspects are under our watch but have not been arrested yet,” he said.Police are continuing their investigation and maintaining high alert in the area as efforts intensify to trace and apprehend the culprits.
