Jaipur: Jaipur district election office (DEO) Monday suspended a supervisor in Adarsh Nagar constituency for negligence in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll.A press release by the Jaipur DEO stated that Mukesh Kumar Mehra was suspended with immediate effect. Shayama Rathore, electoral registration officer for Adarsh Nagar, said, “Mehra has shown gross negligence and indifference in carrying out a task of national importance, which has disrupted the SIR process. So, we have decided to suspend him.”Mehra, an additional administrative officer in the social justice and empowerment department, will report to the assistant electoral registration officer of Adarsh Nagar until the suspension ends. Earlier, the Jaipur DEO had suspended a booth level officer (BLO) and initiated disciplinary proceedings against three BLOs and a supervisor engaged in SIR work.
