Bansal often fought with Singh and other tenants over electricity and water issues. On Friday, Bansal had cut off the electricity to Singh’s room. When Singh questioned the power cut, Bansal became enraged and began arguing. The SHO said Bansal repeatedly stabbed Singh, resulting in his immediate death. When Kalibai tried to intervene, Bansal attacked her with a knife, injuring her.
