Jaipur: A woman suffered a fractured leg after a speeding Safari SUV allegedly rammed into her scooter in Mansarovar area Wednesday morning, police said.Police have identified the injured woman as Mewa Devi.According to officials, the accident occurred at the Rajat Path intersection on New Sanganer Road under Varun Path police station limits.Police said Devi was crossing the intersection on her scooter when a white SUV coming from the Veer Teja Ji Road side allegedly hit her due to reckless driving.Officials said the impact threw the woman onto the road, leaving her seriously injured.A woman was also present inside the SUV along with the driver at the time of the accident.After the collision, the driver fled the spot with the vehicle, police said.The victim sustained a fracture in her thigh bone and was first taken to a nearby hospital by bystanders before being shifted to another hospital for further treatment.The woman’s daughter lodged a complaint and demanded strict action against the accused driver.Police registered an FIR on Thursday morning and said CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced.
