268 notices by JMC-H to bldgs without fire licences, NOCs

Jaipur: The fire committee of JMC-Heritage held its first meeting on Monday at the corporation’s headquarters. The meeting was chaired by mayor Kusum Yadav, with fire officials and other senior members in attendance.During the discussion, chairperson Jitendra Lakhwani informed the committee that the fire department had taken action against buildings that failed to obtain fire safety licences or renew their NOCs. In the past few days, 268 notices were issued to property owners for such violations andf the buildings will face sealing action, he said.Emphasis was placed on enhancing fire safety infrastructure in congested Walled City markets, including areas such as Purohit Ji Ka Katla, Haldiyon Ka Rasta, Ghee Walon Ka Rasta, and Deenanath Ji Ki Gali. Lakhwani emphasised that narrow lanes in these markets pose serious challenges during emergency response, and the fire department must bolster its resources and preparedness.Mayor Yadav directed officials to remain on alert during summer months, given the increased risk of fire incidents. She stressed that proactive measures must be taken to ensure no loss of life or property under any circumstance.
