Jalore: Two people, including a private bus conductor and a govt school teacher, were killed and 10 passengers injured after a private bus collided head-on with a truck on the Sanchore-Deesa National Highway in Jalore district Sunday.The accident took place around 9.30 am near Pir Ki Jaal, about 15 km from Sanchore. Police rushed to the spot, rescued the injured with the help of local residents and restored traffic after removing the damaged vehicles.According to Sanchore SHO Nainaram Choudhary, the private bus was travelling from Barmer to Palanpur in Gujarat. After picking up passengers from Sanchore, the bus, carrying around 40 passengers, resumed its journey when it collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction.

The impact of the collision severely damaged the front portions of both vehicles. Locals who rushed to the spot helped rescue passengers trapped inside the bus before police and ambulance teams arrived.The injured were shifted to govt and private hospitals in Sanchore. Bus conductor Maru Khan, 38, and Hanzaram Meghwal, 53, a govt teacher, succumbed to their injuries during treatment.Police said four of the injured are in critical condition, while six sustained minor injuries and are undergoing treatment.Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
