Bhilwara: Three people were arrested Friday in connection with a fatal illegal mining accident that claimed two lives in Dadia village under Gudli Gram Panchayat, Bagor police station area. Those arrested include Lalit Jat, son of Bagor village head Kalu Ram Jat; Congress panchayat samiti member Harish Chandel, and another local resident, Devnarayan Khatik. However, due to a court holiday on Saturday, they were presented before a judge in Jahazpur. The court sent them to judicial custody. Meanwhile, village head Kalu Ram Jat remains absconding. Police have launched a search operation, forming multiple teams and conducting raids to trace his whereabouts. The arrests follow a tragic incident Wednesday evening, when a massive stone collapse occurred during illegal feldspar and quartz mining in Dadia village. Two workers—28-year-old Rajuram Jat and 30-year-old Uday Ram Bheel—were buried under the debris. Their bodies were recovered on Thursday and sent for post-mortem to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Bhilwara before being handed over to their families.Bagor police SHO Bhanwarlal Choudhary confirmed the illegal mining operations and said that separate complaints were filed by the victims’ families and the Bhilwara mining department. A case has been registered against Kalu Ram Jat, his son, Harish Chandel, and others under various legal sections.
