Alwar: A severe storm that swept through Alwar district Thursday evening damaged a toll plaza on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway after the canopy of an exit booth was ripped off and blown nearly 150 feet away.The incident occurred around 7 pm at the toll booth near Sheetal Cut. Traffic movement was affected for nearly an hour as officials responded to the damage.According to toll staff, the canopy, along with its iron framework, was torn off by strong winds and fell near an exit lane of the expressway. While traffic on the main carriageway remained unaffected, minor disruption was reported on the exit lane.Toll worker Sunil Kumar said the canopy of the exit toll booth was blown away during the storm. He added that power supply to the structure was cut off to avoid any electrical hazard.Kumar added that toll operations were partially affected for about an hour and two toll booths were subsequently made operational, restoring traffic flow.
