Jaipur: Police are analysing mobile tower location data and questioning suspects to identify those behind an explosion that damaged railway tracks near Ramsinghpur in Sriganganagar district Tuesday night. Investigators are yet to make a breakthrough or establish the cause of the blast.Police have collected data on mobile phones active near the site around the time of the explosion to identify people present in the area and examine their possible involvement. Several suspects have been questioned, but no one has been identified as responsible so far.Investigators have also ruled out their initial suspicion that an improvised explosive device (IED) was used. While the first examination of the damaged tracks indicated a possible IED attack, subsequent findings did not support the theory.Police are now exploring other possible causes. Forensic examination of samples collected from the impact site is expected to help determine the nature of the material that triggered the explosion. The blast occurred around 9.45 pm on Tuesday, shattering two concrete-and-steel sleepers, damaging the track and leaving a crater about 2.5 feet deep. The Anupgarh-Suratgarh passenger train had passed through the stretch around 75 minutes earlier.Police sources said sabotage remained a possible angle, but there was no conclusive evidence yet to establish the motive or identify those responsible.
