Jaipur: Naitik Bansal, Aaradhya-Kaira, Garvit-Manav and Bhanu Pratap-Sneha Lamba reigned supreme in their respective categories on the penultimate day of the RD Baheti Memorial Jaipur District Open Badminton Championship at the SMS Stadium Indoor Badminton Hall here on Sunday.The Day 6 saw the finals and semifinals of various categories with the players performing brilliantly to win titles and advance to the finals. The prize distribution ceremony will be held on Monday at 6 pm.In the Under-11 boys’ singles final, Naitik Bansal dismissed Buruddin Hasan 15-10, 15-9 to win the title. In the Under-13 boys’ doubles category, Garvit and Manav made a remarkable comeback, defeating Aaradhya and Jiyaansh 8-15, 15-6, 15-3 to become champions.In the Under-13 girls’ doubles category, Aaradhya Dhingra and Kyra edged past Arvi and Swara 22-20, 21-19 in a thrilling contest to win the title.In the Under-19 mixed doubles final, Bhanu Pratap and Sneha Lamba got the better of Ansh and Shreyati 21-11, 21-13 to become champions.In the women’s doubles semi-finals, Ojaswita Dubey and Pearl Parik accounted for Sadhna and Yukti 21-15, 21-16 to enter the finals, while in the second semi-final, Kanika and Utsava trounced Advita Sharma and Garima Yadav 21-7, 21-17.Utsava thumped Garima Yadav 21-15, 21-17, while Priyanshi Saini prevailed over Aaradhya Dhingra 21-12, 24-22 to enter the women’s singles finals.In the men’s singles semifinals, Bhanu Pratap overcame a sluggish start to down Sudeep Chahar 26-24, 21-14 in a close contest to advance to the final. The Under-13 girls’ singles title clash will be played between Miraya and Rashi.Organising secretary Atul Gupta said that all the remaining matches will be played on Monday from 1 pm and the prize distribution ceremony will be held at 6 pm.The chief guest of the closing ceremony will be Praveen Gupta, chairman of Rajasthan State Sports Council. Special guests will include Pradeep Baheti, trustee of RD Baheti Trust, retired Chief Justice NK Jain, Ashok Baheti and Sanjay Baheti.Sunday’s chief guest CA Ashok Harkawat and Jaipur District Badminton Association secretary Manoj Dasot congratulated all the winners and the players who reached the finals and wished them a bright future.
