The confirmation follows the viral spread of a video and photograph captured by local resident Chatur Singh Jam and a school teacher, authenticated by experts Shomita Mukherjee and Sumit Dookia.This sighting, though based on a photograph from last year, underscores the presence of caracals in the border areas of Jaisalmer, prompting calls for comprehensive surveys and conservation strategies.
