Jaipur: Governor Haribhau Bagde Friday unveiled the book ‘Natyashastra: Pancham Ved Par Ekagra’, edited by art scholar and Sahitya Akademi awardee Dr Rajesh Kumar Vyas, at the Lok Bhavan. The volume brings together writings by leading scholars on the many dimensions of Natyashastra, often described as Fifth Veda, within India’s knowledge tradition.Bagde described it as an important publication that offers readers a fresh and original perspective on the foundational Indian text and praised the Ministry of Culture’s North Zone Cultural Centre for the initiative.The release gains added significance as Natyashastra was included in UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register in April 2025. The book includes essays by prominent scholars, artists and critics, along with two rare articles by Hazari Prasad Dwivedi and Namvar Singh.
