Raj minor, brother-in-law heldfor woman & infant’s murders

Jaipur/Alwar: ‘Honour killing‘ claimed a 22-year-old woman and her 11-month-old son, said the Rajasthan police on Monday. The killings, on June 17, were premeditated and an act of revenge, police said. The woman’s minor brother has been detained and her sister’s husband arrested for conspiring to commit the heinous crime. The infant’s severed body was found on the railway tracks near Dholpur station. The body of his mother, Twinkle Thakur, with throat injuries, was found later behind an FCI warehouse.Deputy SP Munesh Meena said two bags were recovered containing victims’ clothes and a piece of paper with several mobile numbers scribbled on it. This led to Twinkle’s husband, Deepak alias Vipin Yadav, who identified the bodies.Police said Vipin met Twinkle in Agra where he lived with an uncle in Terha village. Twinkle lived across from his house. The couple eloped when Twinkle’s family disapproved of their relationship. The two married in Oct 2023 and started living together in Madhya Pradesh.Already incensed, tensions flared up within Twinkle’s family when her mother passed away. The family blamed Twinkle for it saying she died because of the trauma caused by her daughter’s marriage. On June 16, Twinkle’s brother visited the couple claiming he wanted to take his sister and nephew back home. It is alleged the boy and Mithun Singh, the husband of Twinkle’s sister slit the victim’s throat with a blade. They left the infant on the railway tracks where he was killed by a passing train. Both confessed to the crime, police said.
