Jaipur: The energy department Wednesday signed a ‘Framework for Action’ with the International Solar Alliance (ISA), a grouping of 128 countries, to strengthen solar energy expansion, transmission and distribution in Rajasthan.The agreement was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. Officials said the framework would help prepare an energy transition plan for 2030-35, covering grid modernisation, energy storage, demand management and AI-enabled digitisation.As part of the initiative, a pilot project will be launched in Ajmer discom using digital twin technology to forecast power demand and integrate renewable energy into the grid. Officials said the project is expected to improve reliability and quality of power supply for consumers.Energy minister Hiralal Nagar said artificial intelligence would be used to strengthen consumer services and improve efficiency in the power sector.ISA director general Ashish Khanna said Rajasthan was the first state to sign such a framework with the alliance. He credited the state’s favourable policies for its leadership in solar energy.The partnership also includes technical training, workshops and stakeholder consultations to support the state’s energy transition roadmap.
