Produce missing minor girl in court within 2 wks, orders HC

Jaipur: Rajasthan High Court Tuesday directed police to trace a minor girl aged around 17 years who has been missing for the last two months and produce her before the court within two weeks.The court warned that if she is not traced within the stipulated time, the superintendent of police, Sawai Madhopur, will have to file an affidavit explaining the delay.A division bench comprising Justice Mahendra Goyal and Justice Bhuvan Goyal passed the order while hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by the father of the girl from a village in Chauth Ka Barwara area of Sawai Madhopur district.Counsel for the petitioner, Lakshmikant Sharma Malpura, said that presently the petitioner’s daughter is aged about 17 years and 10 months.“She has been missing since Feb 8, 2026. It was alleged that a youth from the same village abducted her. A criminal case was registered at Chauth Ka Barwara Police Station, but despite nearly two months passing, she has not been traced,” Sharma informed the court.During the hearing, the station house officer present in court informed the bench about efforts made by police to locate the missing girl.However, the High Court expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of results and directed the officer to ensure that she is produced before the court within two weeks.
