Jaipur: A chartered accountant allegedly abducted from Central Park’s parking area Thursday morning escaped after opening the door of his moving Mercedes, putting his legs outside and screaming for help. The car later hit a motorcycle and an SUV before overturning alongside the highway.DCP (South) Rajarshi Raj Varma said Rajiv Gupta reached Central Park around 6.30am for a morning walk and left through Gate No. 4 around 7.30am. As he entered his Mercedes, two men, apparently aged between 25 and 30, allegedly got into the vehicle. One carried a pistol and the other a knife.According to Gupta’s account to police, one man pushed him out of the driver’s seat and took control of the car while the other pointed the pistol at him. The men allegedly drove towards Amer and Delhi Road while threatening him.Police sources said the pistol, later recovered from the car, was fake. The driver allegedly did not know how to operate the vehicle properly and repeatedly asked Gupta about its functions.Gupta initially resisted but was overpowered. Near Amer, he tried to open the door while the vehicle was moving, put his legs outside and screamed for help. The commotion apparently distracted the driver, who lost control.Ashok Nagar SHO Hemant Janagal said the Mercedes hit a motorcycle and an SUV before overturning near the highway. When the SUV driver confronted the occupants and a crowd gathered, the two men fled. Gupta told bystanders that he had been kidnapped and was not driving the car.Police launched a stop-and-check operation, but the suspects escaped. Teams are examining CCTV footage along the route from Central Park towards Amer and other evidence to identify them.Police suspect the men may have tracked Gupta’s regular morning-walk routine for several days. An FIR was registered at Ashok Nagar police station because the alleged abduction began in Central Park.
