Jaipur: Border Security Force (BSF) head constable Ratan Singh Shekhawat, who was shot dead by a colleague while posted in Murshidabad, was given the final farewell at his native village Khannipura in Chomu Monday. Former MLA Ramlal Sharma, who was part of the funeral procession, said people were demanding martyr status for Shekhawat. “I and the party (BJP) are committed to providing all possible help. A statue will be installed in the village as a tribute to Shekhawat,” said Sharma. tnn
