Man running fake job racket arrested

Jaipur: Dausa police arrested a man Sunday accused of running a fraudulent job racket and evading arrest for four years from Jaipur. The accused, Rajiv Bairwa alias Raju, 40, was wanted in multiple fraud cases and had a reward of Rs 10,000 on his head.Rajiv, a resident of the Sikandra area in Dausa, allegedly posed as an income tax dept officer and lured unemployed youth by promising them govt jobs. He charged lakhs of rupees in exchange for fake appointment letters and forged selection lists for posts such as lower division clerk in the income tax dept.According to police, Rajiv was the prime accused in two major fraud cases registered at Bandikui police station on Oct 1, 2021, and Jan 3, 2023. To evade arrest, he frequently changed phone numbers and kept relocating across different areas of Jaipur. A local court declared him an absconder during the ongoing investigations. Teams from the DST and the cyber cell used technical surveillance to trace the accused’s movements.Once Rajiv’s exact location in Jaipur was confirmed, a 48-hour surveillance operation was carried out, which led to his arrest.
