Govt clears Rs 18cr to boost infra for ODOP units

Jaipur: The state govt has approved five projects worth over Rs 18 crore to upgrade the quality of One District One (ODOP) products in Dausa, Churu, Didwana‑Kuchaman, Phalodi and Balotra districts, aligning them with international standards.A state‑level committee chaired by chief secretary V Srinivas sanctioned the projects under the Panch Gaurav programme, releasing Rs 10.76 crore in the first phase for immediate implementation.Industry commissioner Neelabh Saxena said the projects include common facility centres, testing labs and storage infrastructure.In Dausa, a Rs 3.30 crore technology facilitation centre will modernize stone‑based products with advanced cutting and finishing. Churu will get Rs 2.5 crore BIS testing lab and seasoning facility for wooden handicrafts. Similarly, Didwana‑Kuchaman will house a Rs 5.05 crore CNC machine technology centre for stone processing.Phalodi will see a Rs 2.35 crore climate‑controlled warehouse for Sonamukhi, while Balotra will establish a Rs 5 crore textile digital printing facility.Saxena added that projects worth Rs 5.85 crore are already under implementation in six districts, including a multi‑utility centre in Chittorgarh, rural haat in Hanumangarh, trade facilitation centre in Didwana‑Kuchaman, craft village renovation in Jhunjhunu, CFC expansion in Kota, and an exhibition hall in Rajsamand.Under the ODOP policy 2024, each of Rajasthan’s 41 districts has a designated product. MSMEs receive margin money grants up to Rs 20 lakh, along with support for advanced technology, quality certification, IPR, marketing, and e‑commerce integration.Officials say these incentives will help reduce production costs, improve competitiveness, and expand Rajasthan’s footprint in global markets.
