Ajmer: The POCSO court in Ajmer Monday denied bail to Afraaz (18), the main accused in the Bijaynagar sexual abuse case involving minor schoolgirls. Afraaz, from Gulabpura in Bhilwara, is accused of inciting enmity between two communities, a charge the court deemed ‘extremely sensitive and serious.‘ Afraaz also faces allegations of coercing the minors into religious conversion. Previously, the court rejected bail for a café owner, two minors, and former councillor Hakim Qureshi in connection with the case. Employed as a garage helper, Afraaz allegedly threatened the victims with objectionable videos and photos. Seventeen individuals, including four minors, were arrested. An 895-page chargesheet claims the accused operated as a gang to convert minor girls. The case was filed on Feb 15 by three parents at Bijaynagar police station, sparking community outrage and citywide protests.
