Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma launched the Vande Ganga’ water conservation campaign Thursday, coinciding with World Environment Day and Ganga Dussehra. The initiative aims to address water scarcity and environmental protection across the state through multiple interventions.In the evening, Sharma conducted an aerial inspection of various components under the revised Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project in Bundi.The initiative includes plans to construct 45,000 water conservation structures over the next four years, with 5,000 structures slated for completion in the current financial year under the ‘Karmabhoomi to Matrubhoomi’ campaign. It also focuses on cleaning water sources and restoring traditional rainwater harvesting systems.Speaking at the Rajasthan International Centre (RIC) here, Sharma emphasised environmental consciousness, making a powerful statement about planting trees in mothers’ names.
