Jaipur: The family of 9-year-old Amaira Meena, a student who died after allegedly jumping from the Neerja Modi School building on Nov 1, 2025, alleged Wednesday that the Jaipur police chargesheet filed in the case was incomplete and demanded the arrest of all those responsible, including the school principal and its founder.Addressing a news conference at the Pink City Press Club, along with members of the Sanyukt Abhibhavak Sangh, Amaira’s parents, Vijay Meena and Shivani Meena, alleged that the chargesheet omitted the names of school principal Indu Dubey and founder Saurabh Modi despite evidence pointing to institutional negligence.The family alleged that investigators failed to consider findings of a CBSE inspection report, which highlighted the appointment of underqualified teachers and other irregularities at the private school. They demanded a fresh investigation and sought the inclusion of additional charges, including abetment, wherever legally applicable, besides action against the school management under Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.“Filing the chargesheet is an important step, but justice will remain incomplete unless every person responsible is made an accused and arrested in accordance with the law,” said Vijay, the deceased girl’s father.Shivani alleged that her daughter, a class 4 student, repeatedly showed signs of distress, but the school failed to respond adequately. She called for an impartial investigation and stronger mechanisms in schools to prevent bullying and protect children.Sanyukt Abhibhavak Sangh president Arvind Agrawal said the case raised larger questions about institutional accountability in private schools. “This is not just one family’s fight. Unless negligence by school managements is dealt with firmly, similar incidents may recur,” Agrawal said.The parents’ body demanded mandatory anti-bullying protocols, appointment of qualified counsellors, comprehensive CCTV surveillance, and stricter enforcement of child safety norms in private schools across Rajasthan.Jaipur police recently filed the chargesheet before a lower court in connection with the student’s death. The family’s allegations could not be independently verified, and there was no immediate response from the school management or the police to the claims made at the news conference.
