According to police, the truck driver lost control while trying to avoid an auto-rickshaw that suddenly came in front of the vehicle. The truck mounted the road divider, smashed through an iron safety railing, and rammed into the electricity transformer. The impact triggered a loud explosion as the transformer burst, sending residents and shopkeepers rushing out in panic. Two occupants of the auto-rickshaw sustained minor injuries in the incident. The collision left the transformer badly damaged, with its structure collapsing onto the truck’s cabin. Twisted iron railings and debris were scattered across the road, while the truck remained lodged beneath the transformer. The damaged vehicle blocked part of the carriageway until a crane was brought in to remove it and restore traffic.“Fortunately, the incident did not turn into a major tragedy. The two occupants of the auto-rickshaw suffered only minor injuries,” a police official said.Despite injuries and damage to public infrastructure, no FIR had been registered till Thursday evening as neither party lodged a complaint. Police said a person present at a nearby shop informed them that the truck belonged to their firm.
