Jaipur: Special Operations Group (SOG) Monday arrested three foreign MBBS graduates for allegedly using forged Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG) screening certificates to obtain registration with the Rajasthan Medical Council (RMC) and secure internships at medical colleges in the state. With the latest arrests, the number of accused held in the case has risen to 25. Additional Director General of Police (SOG) Vishal Bansal said the arrests were made in connection with a case registered at the SOG police station on Feb 4, 2026. Investigators alleged that several foreign medical graduates who failed to clear the mandatory Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) procured forged FMG screening certificates through an organised racket. The fake documents were allegedly used to secure temporary registration from Rajasthan Medical Council and internships at govt and private medical colleges in the state. The arrested doctors were identified as Navdeep Tamboliya (27) of Banswara, Chirag Sahu (28) of Pratapgarh and Afridi Khan (25) of Dausa. According to the SOG, Tamboliya completed his MBBS in Kyrgyzstan and returned to India in 2022. After allegedly failing the FMGE several times, he paid Rs 25 lakh through an intermediary for a forged FMG certificate and later secured an internship at Govt Medical College, Dausa. Sahu, who completed his MBBS in Kazakhstan and returned in 2023, allegedly paid Rs 23.5 lakh through a former classmate after repeatedly failing the FMGE. Police said he used the forged certificate to obtain an internship at Pacific Medical College, Udaipur. Khan, also an MBBS graduate from Kazakhstan, allegedly paid Rs 25 lakh for a fake FMG certificate after failing the qualifying examination multiple times. He allegedly secured an internship at Govt Medical College, Alwar. All three accused were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jaipur Metropolitan-II, which remanded them to police custody till July 4. SOG had earlier arrested 22 persons, including 17 foreign medical graduates, former RMC registrar Dr Rajesh Sharma, UDC Akhilesh Mathur, LDC Farhan Hasan, alleged kingpin Bhanaram Mali and a broker.
