Jaisalmer: A land records inspector, Narayanlal, was arrested red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,5000 in Barmer during a trap operation.ACB Range Jodhpur DIG of Police Narayan Togas said ACB unit Barmer Additional Superintendent of Police Narendrakumar, along with his team, conducted the operation in which the accused was caught accepting the bribe.According to Togas, the accused demanded and received Rs 26,000 in exchange for carrying out the nekhambandi (land measurement) at the site. Narayanlal was appointed by Commissioner Tehsildar Gudamalani in compliance with an order passed regarding nekhambandi filed by the complainant in the court of Sub-Divisional Magistrate Gudamalani in connection with the complainant’s agricultural land.ACB DG of Police Govind Gupta said ACB Chowki Barmer received a complaint alleging that the complainant’s father, Chainaram, was being harassed in exchange for carrying out the nekhambandi of agricultural land, with a demand of Rs 30,000. Gupta said that Rs 4,000 was received at the time of verification, and the remaining amount of Rs 26,000 was received on Tuesday. Of this, Rs 5,500 was returned on the request Chainaram, and the accused was arrested red-handed while taking the remaining amount of Rs 20,500.
