Jaipur: Taking a stern view of the delay in construction and inadequate infrastructure at the Jaipur family court, the Rajasthan High Court has directed authorities to complete the project on priority and address all deficiencies without delay.Chairman of the High Court Building Committee and senior judge Justice P S Bhati clearly instructed that the construction of the family court must be completed at the earliest. He also ordered that all hurdles in the ongoing work be removed immediately. The directions came after a delegation of the Family Court Bar Association, including coordinator Advocate Poonam Chand Bhandari, President D S Shekhawat and General Secretary Pankaj Arora, and others met Justice Bhati on Friday and presented a detailed progress report of the construction. The delegation also highlighted multiple issues affecting the functioning of the court.“We brought it to the notice of Justice Bhati that even essential facilities such as drinking water and toilets are lacking at the family court premises. This has been causing significant inconvenience to litigants and lawyers visiting the court regularly,” said Shekhawat.Taking immediate cognisance, Justice Bhati directed the concerned authorities to ensure the provision of basic amenities without delay, emphasising that such shortcomings cannot be ignored in a judicial setup. The delegation also raised concerns about an illegal room that has become a major obstacle in the construction of the boundary wall. Justice Bhati, responding to this, has instructed the registrar of the High Court to take prompt action and remove the unauthorised structure to ensure smooth progress of the project. He further assured the delegation that he would personally inspect the family court premises to review the situation on the ground.Another concern included the absence of chambers for advocates in newly constructed court buildings. Responding to this, Justice Bhati stressed that the construction of lawyers’ chambers is equally important and must be included as an integral part of court infrastructur.
