Jaipur: Rajasthan para athlete Khushboo Gill won the gold medal with a record-breaking throw in the women’s shot put F20 event at the 24th National Para Athletics Championship 2025-26 which was held recently at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.Khushboo emerged champion with a distance of 11.58m, much ahead of her competitors. Tamil Nadu’s Muthumeena Vellaisami finished a distant second with a throw of 9.26m, while Ananya Bansal of Punjab bagged the bronze medal with 8.22m.Breaking her own national record set last year, Khushboo, who is supported by AU Small Finance Bank, reigned supreme to extend her domination in her favourite event.Despite coming from a financially constrained background, she has consistently demonstrated exceptional talent, determination, and discipline in her sporting journey. She is currently being trained under the guidance of Mahaveer Saini, a Dronacharya Awardee.After pocketing gold at the 20th National Para Athletics in 2022, Khushboo grabbed gold medals at second Khelo India Games and 23rd National Para Athletics besides claiming a silver at the Delhi World Para Athletics Grand Prix last year.Through its CSR initiative, AU Small Finance Bank has been supporting Khushboo since last one year for her sports training, equipment and diet expenses.
