Jaipur: A 79-year-old doctor reported receiving multiple international calls demanding Rs 25 lakh, with the caller threatening to harm him and his family if he did not pay, police said. An FIR was registered at Vaishali Nagar police station based on the phone numbers used in the calls.Police said the doctor began receiving calls on Nov 6, when he got five calls from international numbers. He did not answer. The next morning, another call came from an international number, which again went unanswered. A call came again on Nov 8. When the doctor picked up, the caller caller allegedly warned him to deposit Rs 25 lakh, else it wouldn’t be good for him and his family. Further calls followed and the doctor approached police.
