Jaisalmer: Five men were killed and three sustained critical injuries in a road accident late Sunday night after a speeding Scorpio SUV rammed into the rear of a trailer on the Barmer-Jodhpur National Highway near Bhandiyawas in Balotra district’s Pachpadra police station area.The deceased have been identified as Revantaram Jat (26), Swarooparam Jat (27), Bharat Jat (25), Kishan Jat (27) and Bhavesh Jat. The injured men have been admitted to a hospital in Jodhpur, where their condition remains critical.Police shifted all the injured to the Govt Nahata Hospital in Balotra, where doctors declared three of the men dead on arrival, while two others succumbed to their injuries during treatment.Deputy Superintendent of Police Yogesh Choudhary said that all victims were residents of Kanod village in the Baytoo area and were returning after offering prayers at Bhomiyaji temple in Jodhpur.
